Most of our kitchen renovations need good electrical points that need to be positioned in their locations. We call this the new kitchen ring circuit that will give us the new wiring for the sockets. This will also cover the isolator switches that are needed for things like your integrated appliances in the kitchen. The kitchen refurbishment or remodelling projects we work on will need updating to comply with regulation standards so installing a new kitchen ring is important.
The old wiring from the previous kitchen could good to use but by the time you cut out what you don’t need it better and more consistent to install a new kitchen ring. There is always a chance the old ring could be damaged or the previous installer had some bad connections hidden in the walls or floor.
When new wiring is being installed we can hide some of the wiring behind the units but most of the wiring needs to be in the walls. This means a lot of cutting out of walls to install new back boxes for new sockets. When the wiring is completed we will need to back fill and plaster the walls to a good finish ready for tiling or painting
